A Day Never to Forget

Handing out Pizza to the Homeless

We had unique institute experiences. We helped out Sister Duncan with setting up and giving out pizza to the homeless, which was pretty cool. We walked around downtown with a bag full of sodas and some pizza slices and handed them out. So we didn’t really have our formal institute class, but it was great to see the people that come to institute help out with feeding the homeless.

Unique MLC Experience

We flew back down to Richmond for MLC. The night before MLC we got some food with the tech elders. We went to this restaurant that was on the dock by the ocean. So we got to eat, watch the sunset, and be by the boats. You definitely pay for it, but you know, it’s the experience that counts. We were surprised that it was a bit smoky in Richmond as well. I would’ve thought that the ocean would’ve cleared that up. MLC was pretty good, it initiated a lot more planning that needs to be completed for Zone Conference, but it’s all good. At the very end of the meeting President Gill paused and said “I feel as if we need to stand.” He then stood up with Sister Gill and he shared his testimony. The words that were shared cannot be written at this time. We were all astonished; I was surprised he was able to share what he shared. I’ve never heard a testimony like this in my life. This is one of those experiences you’ll always remember for the rest of your life.

Moving Furniture

We helped out Brother Dol with moving some furniture. He is an absolute powerhouse. He’s in his 60s, and I think normally he tries to do all of this by himself. So when he reaches out for help, you know he really needs it. We were moving a few boards and clearing the way, so that we could move the couch. We look back, and to our surprise he has the whole couch on one side in the air, ready for us to grab. He doesn’t mess around, he gets things done, he’s pretty awesome. He’s redoing a lot of his house and building a deck, so he’s been quite busy. I’m grateful we had the opportunity to stop by and help him out a bit.

Buncha Planning

We’ve been doing a bunch of planning for our Zone Conference. We’re working on a panel with some recently baptized converts, which should hopefully be pretty cool. We’re still ironing out a lot of the details with it. Planning has been a bit difficult and all over the place because the APs keep changing it, throwing wrenches in our plans. But we’re making it work.
